Sharon Barbee is our new full-time Parish Administrator. A native Northern Virginian, she moved to Maryland in 1990.  Sharon, her husband of 15 years, Mark Hevey, their teen-age son, Alexander, a pet Kerry Blue Terrier and three large goldfish share their home in Rockville.

Raised a Baptist, Sharon started attending St. John’s Episcopal Church, Norwood Parish, in 1990 where she is an active member serving on the Flower Guild, participating in outreach and a Co-Founder and leader of the Adoption Ministry.

In addition to surviving a 27-year career in banking, Sharon has extensive professional and volunteer experience.  Passionate about empowering youth and sensitive to the needs of aging adults, she is involved in several activities and projects to support these groups.  Sharon enjoys family activities, home decorating and repair, hiking, camping, crafts, and vegetable and flower gardening.

Quote from Sharon:  “I am excited about performing the administrator’s function with warmth, creativity and efficiency in support of the journey on which St. Nick’s has embarked.”
