Now you AND your friends can help us raise money for St. Nicks outreach projects and programs through Facebook "Causes."

Facebook Causes use a new technique called internet micro-fundraising. One person shares a Cause with all her friends, they each share share the Cause with all of their friends, and so forth. The ideas is that a huge group of people giving relatively small amounts of money can raise a lot more funds than a small amount of people giving huge amounts of money.

St. Nick's has registered four "Causes" on Facebook:

• El Hogar
• Germantown HELP
• Episcopalians for Global Reconcilliation (The Millenium Development Goals)
• St. Nicholas Church Programs

Each month we will high light a different "Cause" on Facebook. February is "El Hogar" month. March - in preparation for our move in - is St. Nicholas Church month.

All you have to do is pick one of the above Causes, click on it, join it, and invite your Facebook friends to join it, too. Whether and when they donate to the Cause is up to them, but when they do decide to give, they can do it right from the Cause site, in amounts as small as $10.

Of course, you'll have to join Facebook first...
