Help El Hogar in Honduras (de Amor y Esperanza). Dine out at Laredo Grill on the first Monday of the month to support our Educational Partnership at El Hogar.

Germantown HELP is a non-profit organization that offers deliveries of emergency food, prescription assistance and holiday help to residents of Germantown, Maryland (zip codes 20874 and 20876). The emergency food program provides approximately three days’ worth of food to individuals and families. The program is supported by local churches (including St. Nick’s), schools and organizations through food drives, cash donations, etc. Our church can help this wonderful organization by bringing in non-perishables and supporting the holiday gift card drives. Food items that are ALWAYS needed:

  • breakfast cereal
  • spaghetti sauce
  • peanut butter & jelly
  • tuna fish and other canned meats
  • canned fruits, vegetables and soups
  • rice and pasta

CURRENTLY AT ST. NICHOLAS

  • St. Nick’s people like to HELP:  Year round food drives for Germantown HELP and grocery gift cards for Thanksgiving provide nourishment and meals for families who are food insecure in our local community.
  • Refugee Resettlement Efforts. Warm clothing donations support migrants to the DMV.
  • El Hogar dinner fundraising progressing. A steady group of dedicated diners (and others) have helped us raise $1,100 of the $1,500 dollars needed for Educational Partnerships at El Hogar.
  • Vegetable Garden:  All of the produce from St. Nicholas’ vegetable garden, more than 500 pounds each summer, is donated to Nourish Now to feed hungry people in our area.
